The BC Curriculum is the outline of requirements for students in any given grade which need to be met. The BC Curriculum website lists Curricular Competencies, Big Ideas, and Content which need to be taught to students throughout Kindergarten to Grade 12 in the BC school system. The Curricular Competencies are what students are taught to do overtime, the Big Ideas are key concepts students are understanding overtime, and the Content is the “Know” of this “Know- Do- Understand Model” of learning. This curriculum is concept based and competency driven. With concept based and competency driven curriculum, students are involved in an engaging learning experience. These classroom environments allow for hands on learning (BC’s Curriculum).
